Centerville Real Estate
We were named Centerville because of our central location in Leon County, but we're also close to the center point between Dallas and Houston. Centerville real estate is in the heart of eastern Texas.
Cotton grew in the fields surrounding the town when we first began, as did sheep. In the 1870's, a lady named Mrs. Robert Blacom was offered $1,000 a piece for her French Merino sheep. A man from California wanted to enter the sheep in an exhibition in 1876 for sheep from all over the country.
The Leon County Courthouse, built in 1886, is on the site of the original courthouse that burned. Twice in Centerville history, the courthouse was up for a vote for relocation and both times the people voted to keep the county seat here.
Sam Lightnin' Hopkins was born in Centerville. Hopkins made his first guitar from a cigar box and string. Humble beginnings didn't hinder his path to the top, though. He was a renowned Blues singer who made it all the way from the heart of Texas to the royal court of Queen Elizabeth.

In this part of the country, outdoor activities are passed down through the generations. Family members share time and techniques with younger generations when it comes to hunting and fishing, the woods and water in Leon County.
Horses have always played a prominent role in Texas culture. Centerville is no exception. We proudly work with a horse training facility that calls Centerville home. One breed, in particular, Cutting horses, reach their full potential with the experts here in Centerville.
Our town might be small in number, but it is big on creativity. A company called Making Life Cooler is the effort of one family who wanted to eat their ice cream without the discomfort of cold hands. They invented a solution to their Texas-sized problem by creating a personal pint holder. It's like a coffee mug for ice cream, the insulation keeps the container cold and your hand warm. The invention made it to the gift baskets at the Academy Awards in 2014. Very cool.
